English for Educators - Level 1


Methodology


This course is ideal for all those educators (primary & secondary teachers, university staff (academic & admin), adult educators, trainers & coaches) who want to improve their English level and gain more confidence in the use of English. It aims to give participants basic knowledge of reading, listening, spoken and written skills in a dynamic and communicative way, through individual, pair and group work. Course participants will be expected to use a range of resources available to them during the training and to communicate in English. You will develop your productive and receptive skills in English and boost your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. This course is designed to be very flexible and can be adapted to suit the specific needs of the participants. English for Educators (Level I) course is for teachers/educators who have an Elementary or (A1/A2) or Pre-intermediate (B1) language level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.



Objectives

  1. Improve their oral fluency and confidence in English

  2. Improve writing, pronunciation, reading and listening skills in English

  3. Improve English language skills at A2/B1 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, widen professional vocabulary and promote EU’s broad linguistic diversity.

  4. Revise and strengthen professional profile and competences, build confidence in teaching subjects in English across the school curriculum.




  1. Gain techniques for working with heterogeneous and mixed ability classrooms, deal with increased language and cultural diversity of learners, with regards to inclusive approach.

  2. Improve teachers’ mobility, re-ignite lifelong learning strategies, raise the attractiveness and prestige of the educational sector.

  3. Meet colleagues of different nationalities within the EU, engage in cross-cultural learning experience, exchange ideas and build a network for future international cooperation.

  4. Gain broader understanding of practices of education in different countries, cultivate mutual respect and intercultural awareness

  • Duration: Monday - Friday from 9.00 am to 1 pm every day (afternoon free for cultural activities)

Michelle Di Vetta & Team

Michelle Di Vetta was born in Canada and graduated from York University where she graduated in Sociology and specialised in HR Management. She began her career in corporate HR with a focus on training and development. She has continued on in the education field where for the last 12 years she has focused her career as the President and Head Master of Coral Educational Institute. Her background gives her the ability to engage and develop her amazing staff and bring ELL learners to higher achievements. Being trained by Michelle will give you a memorable experience you won’t forget. She now lives in Alghero with her husband and daughter.
