About the Course
CLIL - Content and Language Integrated Learning
in cooperation with CORAL APS
Methodology:
CLIL is an innovative approach to language teaching, where students are exposed to a foreign language while learning the content of subjects such as geography, fine arts, science etc. The course aims to introduce participants to Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) principles and techniques and concentrates on the practical aspects of teaching CLIL at different levels. During the course, participants will learn about 5Cs principles of CLIL, terminology, integration of four language skills, scaffolding strategies, where to find and how to develop their own materials, assessments and much more. It is designed with formal and informal discussions, hand-on activities, practical tips on how to implement CLIL in your school, and you will experience CLIL activities from the perspective of the students.
This CLIL course will give you a solid grounding in CLIL if you are a newly qualified teacher entering this branch of ELT and it will help you develop existing skills if you already work in this sector. You will look at how to incorporate EFL (English as a Foreign Language) techniques into subject teaching to aid learner understanding of instructions, materials and explanations. You will also look at material creation, how to develop learner autonomy, theories of second language acquisition and how they link to CLIL. This course will equip you to operate more effectively in this context and also encourage you to use CLIL in both primary and secondary teaching.
The course is suitable for all educators that would like to refresh their English language skills and gain practical knowledge and learn how to implement CLIL methodology in their lessons.

We create an interesting, interactive and inspiring learning experience
We integrate many different teaching ideas and sources that anyone can use in their classroom
We create a learning “by doing” environment where we cultivate the value in communication, cooperation and creativity
We believe that both children and adults learn language through immersion in the classroom
We aim to provide a space where teachers can share and learn from like-minded teachers from around Europe
